The Late Archbishop Jimmie Lee Smith, Founder was a native of Lithonia, Georgia and spread the Word of God for more than 40 years. He was married to Dr. Ruth Williams Smith, and they have five children and ten grandchildren who fully participate in the ministry.

Archbishop Smith was the Presiding Prelate of the Light of the World Interdenominational International Association that oversaw ministries in 13 countries with a membership of over 200,000. He was instrumental in the ministerial growth of several other churches in the metropolitan Atlanta area. These churches include Union Baptist and Big Miller Grove Baptist, both located in Lithonia, Georgia and Beulah Baptist located in Decatur, Georgia.

Archbishop Jimmie Lee Smith, Founder served as Senior Pastor of Light of the World Christian Tabernacle International headquartered in Stockbridge, Georgia. Additionally, he had a second location of this church located in Decatur, Georgia.

Throughout his ministry, Archbishop Smith was intensely community and civic minded. In the pursuits of these passions, he advised and counseled local, state and national leaders. From Office of the President of the United States, to various local county commissioners and other politicians, he was sought out for his powerful influence, his sound advice and his wise and spiritual counsel.

Archbishop Smith was also known throughout the country and many places from around the world for his dynamic abilities to teach, lecture and preach the Word of God. He authored the following books, "How to Spiritually Handle Anxiety", "A Soldier in God's Military Army", and "The Way of Faith".

This great and much beloved man of God was also renowned for his gifts of singing, playing of various musical instruments and delivering profound sermons and insightful lectures. Archbishop Smith was a great, wise and prophetic man of God who met no strangers, forgave and embraced all, loved and inspired a and imparted a legacy never to be forgotten.
